Dwarf Star: A Staged Reading on the Mainstage

What would you do for love?  What would you do for money?  What does love of money do to you?  Dwarf Star, inspired by the recent economic meltdown, is a dark comedy about buried passions, hidden crimes and huge money, written by Patricia Green, an Emmy winner for Cagney and Lacey and L.A. Law, who also adapted and produced Catherine Marshall’s Christy for television.

Please join us April 17^th at 8:00 pm for a reading of Dwarf Star on the Mainstage with a stellar local cast (Maggie Marshall, AK Benninghofen, Jeff Benninghofen, Tiffany Cade, and Jaclyn Helms), directed by ACT favorite Michael Lilly, and the Q and A to follow.  This will be the first time Dwarf Star is read to a live audience, a crucial step in the creative process.

"The 12 Days of Santaland" Promo - December 4-15!

We are so, so excited about The Santaland Diaries this year! It's our 10th year of doing the show (our 7th with the awesome Tom Chalmers) and we're celebrating your support of your local Santaland production with 12 days of giveaways! And to extend your local holiday experience, we've partnered with Asheville Grown and 12 local businesses to hand out pairs of tickets and gift cards for each of the 12 days leading up to Opening Night!  Want to be entered to win?  Here's how it works:

1 - Shop local by visiting the featured business of the day (there's a list below)
2 - Take a photo of our Santaland sign located next to the cash register
3 - Send the photo to jenny@ashevilletheatre.org or tweet it to @AshevilleTheatr by 11:59 pm that day
4 - That's it!  You've entered the contest!  We'll randomly select a winner each day to win 2 tickets to The Santaland Diaries and a $10 gift certificate to the featured business!

"Buy-one-get-one-free" for Santaland

ACT is in the giving mood this season.

As a way of saying thanks to our social media fans, ACT will be offering a "Thankful for Thursday" buy-one-get-one-free promotion for "The Santaland Diaries" -- Asheville's hippest holiday tradition.

The promotion will be good for opening night of "Santaland" -- Thursday, December 10.

Getting a free ticket to a great show has never been so easy:

1. Visit our ACT Facebook fan page. Not a fan yet? Join up!

2. Check our Facebook page this Tuesday morning for a link to our "Santaland" promotional coupon. The coupon will be a replica of the one on this page, only it will have the special code. (It's a secret right now, but not for long.)

3. Visit or call the ACT box office. Recite the code, and you will be eligible for a free ticket with the purchase of a ticket.
